November newsletter

With the late and wet autumn the leaves are still on the trees but they are now starting to fall and causing slowing of your cruising trips.
Just taking the power off and letting the leaves sink away from the propeller can help or if this fails to help then a short reverse thrust can improve propulsion.
I hope you are all enjoying your cosy evenings by the fire with a good book.

Cuttings

Although the temperature at this early part of October is mild it is tempting to light the solid fuel stove.
A seasonal warning to check your flue is clear and your baffle plate has not got a pile of soot on it.
Have a lovely Autumn

October newsletter

October is here and the evenings drawing in.
The autumn colours are starting to emerge.
During October and early November we start to notice our engines starting to work harder and the boat speed decreasing.
This is often due to leaves being sucked up to the propeller, if this happens just pop the controller into neutral and they should fall to the bottom of the canal.
If that fails to help then a bit of reverse thrust can clear the propeller.
Patience is needed during autumn cruising.
Enjoy the marvellous colours

September cuttings

Autumn is just around the corner and hopefully some warm days and cooler nights.
It is now we need to check our solid fuel stoves and make sure the baffle plate and flue are clear.
We can look forward to shorter days and cosy evenings.

Sales continue to be very active
It is with great pleasure that we welcome new owners from abroad and at home.
The late burst of warmth after a cool and wet July has seen many new ducklings.
As we slide into September we look forward to the wonderful changes in colour that autumn brings.

August cuttings

With the damper but warm conditions many of the wild flowers are looking wonderful.
Although this has been a cooler and wetter July has enabled the canal environment has remained green and lush.
When cruising or walking it is so soothing to our mental health to observe small changes in the natural world.
Have a relaxing time on or near the canals.

I do hope that you have been able to enjoy the canals and its environment this summer

July cuttings

The June has been the hottest on record and sadly the fish are struggling with lack of oxygen to the water.
Owners and their pets have also been seeking shade out of the intense heat.
So often in June it is rainfall I am commenting on!
The shares are selling well and there there are plenty of viewings and enquiries.
I hope you are able to enjoy a summer cruise and I hope to meet many of you during my holidays.

July newsletter

July has arrived and at last a little respite from the heat of June.
The canals are full of colour with the butterflies, wildflowers and young ducklings, cygnets and goslings.
Even if you are unable to go boating a walk along the towpath will bring joy at this time of the summer.
Boat sales are still busy and there are still bargains to be snapped up with weeks available this summer.
A new share on Minuet has two august weeks and costing less than a hire boat.
