Autumn Colour
The Clocks go back
Autumn colours are wonderful on the cut and a wonderful array of fungi is to be found along the tow path.
Walking from Bromley Wharf to Fradley over the weekend I noticed a lovely group of fly agaric fungi, those red with white spots of many children’s picture books
It is such a pretty time of year with the mist rising from the canal in the early morning and the number of boats decreasing it allows you extra time to enjoy the colours and sights of autumn.
The early evenings means lighting the fire and snuggling up for a convivial evening aboard.
Now out comes the slow cooker and hearty stews and soups for dinner and a walk to the local pub to enjoy the company of others.
If you think canals are only for good weather cruising many will disagree and expound the virtues of the out of season wonders of the canals and the enjoyable times with likeminded boaters.
If you have not tried an autumn walk or cruise then give it a go, you may become a convert.
